New York Police will begin using drones for surveillance
Dec 6, 2018
The New York Police Department has announced a new drone program, an extension of the previous plan that was revealed back in 2011. As informed by The Department itself, the drone fleet will count with 14 drones in total. All of them will be used for investigation, surveillance, rescue missions, documentation of crime scenes, general incidents, or supervision of significant events such as concerts or sporting events. This way we see how eager the New York police is to modernize. Thus, this drone fleet will join other initiatives previously announced, such as the police-robots that are already patrolling some areas of New York.
