Meet Titan, the new security chip inside Google's new Pixel
Oct 17, 2018
Google has added in the new Pixel 3 a security chip. This year Google has decided to bet on the security of Titan M. What Google wants to achieve with the use of Titan M, is the protection of our smartphones at different levels. Beyond the use of a security pin, unlocking pattern, facial recognition or fingerprint reader.
The new Pixel 3, using this chip, extends security to aspects such as a secure boot, lock screen, storage encryption, and operating system integrity. The technology that inspired Titan, the FIDO protocol, is used to provide a high level of security while keeping personal data safe, making it inaccessible to external attacks or firmware modifications.
