Google is officially done with Allo, its messaging app
Dec 7, 2018
2018 is coming to an end, and it seems that it's time to clean up and turn the page on Google. Today the big G announced the closure of Google Allo, its instant messaging app. We do not believe that this goodbye is too traumatic among the users since it never became popular. Google Allo was born in 2016 with the intention of competing with WhatsApp. Google worked hard for over two years adding all the features that are commonly expected from a modern messaging app, including a version for iOS and Android, and web support in Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. It was compatible with the Google Assistant and had a broad emoji manager, among other features.
