Financial trouble due to medical bills cause brings stress to cancer patients
Jan 21, 2019
Stress affects all of us in our daily life, but cancer patients might be more vulnerable to it than the rest of the population. A new study shows that the rates of financial uncertainty among cancer patients are higher than for the rest of the population. About 43% of the patients in the study had health-related money problems, compared to 30% of the people involved who didn't have cancer. The research also shows that younger patients are more vulnerable to this, and researchers believe it's due to younger patients having to quit their studies to seek treatment, stopping from getting a job and leaving them without health insurance.
