Pinterest enters the stock market
Apr 18, 2019
Pinterest has finally joined the stock market, and investors couldn't be happier. Pinterest shares have gained 25% in their first day of trading, reaching $23.75 per share and pushing the company's market cap above $12 billion. Pinterest is the latest tech company to join the stock market after Lyft, and PagerDuty has done the same in the past month, with others like Uber and Slack expected to do the same in the following weeks. Pinterest CEO Benjamin Silberman stated that the app has been position as a utility instead of a platform for communication like Facebook or Twitter, which has helped Pinterest avoid the recent controversies.
