Mercedes wants to be at the forefront of autonomy

There are numerous tech and auto companies that want a share of the ride-hailing market. Companies such as General Motors, Volkswagen, Google, and Uber are all investing heavily on autonomous taxis, with Google's Waymo division seemingly leading the pack, but this doesn't phase Mercedes. Christoph Schroeder, Mercedes-Benz executive, said in an interview that although Mercedes is not leading the field, they want to be one of the top two companies to take the technology to the next level and start mass production of autonomous technology.
