Apple hires former Tesla executive in charge of developing powertrains

There have been rumors for years that Apple was looking to get into the car business. However, it was unclear whether they were developing a system for autonomous vehicles or creating a full car on their own. This question seems to finally have an answer as sources state that Apple has hired Michael Schwekutsch, the former VP of engineering in charge of developing powertrains for Tesla. Schwekutsch is the latest Tesla executive to join Apple's Special Project Group, and his arrival signals at Apple's plans to put an electric vehicle on the market. Apple has hired several former employees from Tesla, but now it seems to be hiring them while they are still on the job.
