According to GM executives, there are plans underway for a new pickup for the South American market. The new truck will have compact, and unibody features and the automaker is planning to replace its Chevy Montana. Sources claim that the new vehicle will be revealed sometime in 2020 and will compete against Ford's new Focus-style truck. The upcoming vehicle will be the last GEM production from the automaker and will be developed in Brazil if it goes into production. The unnamed car will be produced at GM's Sao Caetano do Sul plant, and its powertrain will be introduced from GM's plant in Argentina.
