California allows self-driving cars for ride-hailers
Dec 24, 2018
A company that develops self-driving technology for vehicles managed to get permits to carry passengers in their self-driving service cars. The license will be available for three years; they will require a human driver just in case something goes wrong or has to take over the wheel if necessary. Zoos are planning to release fully electric and autonomous vehicles in 2020. Also, the company designed a concept vehicle which is bidirectional and symmetrical, it has zero-emissions and will be produced only for its ride-haling service. According to Zoox executives, the company's ultimate goal is to improve on safety, congestion, and contamination in highly-populated cities.
