Bugatti tests first 3D-printed brake caliper
Dec 24, 2018
Bugatti recently displayed through a video a set of tests for a 3D-printed titanium brake caliper, but not just a standard test; it was the ultimate endurance test. The video features engineers testing the capabilities of the discs at insane speeds and incredible temperatures. Bugatti claims that it's the first piece of equipment ever made from titanium to have that size. The French automaker is still developing the technology and hopes to be performing real-life testing by 2019, while also shortening production times. The company also claims that the development of high-end pieces of equipment could provide the necessary parts for more accessible vehicles in the future.
