Boring Company reveals high-speed tunnel
Dec 19, 2018
Finally, after two long years, Elon Musk's Boring Company unveiled its first stretch of tunnels that will be part of the high-speed tunnel network in Hawthorne, California. The 1.14-mile segment of the tube was displayed for the public earlier this week. According to some data gathered, the high-speed tunnel segment cost around the $10 million, and it was used by journalists to take a 50mph ride aboard a Tesla Model X SUV. Musk also hopes that the new system will be able to handle speeds of 150mph and reduce the burden of heavy traffic. There have also been plans to construct similar tunnels across the U.S., but due to regulatory issues, there is no official permission for the development.
