AFL-CIO is concerned with GM's new strategy
Nov 27, 2018
The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations is particularly worried about General Motors' abrupt announcement concerning its new strategy. Earlier this week General Motors announced the temporary shutdown of five factories and that they are laying off 14,000 employees. The AFL-CIO is concerned about GM's offshoring past and how the company uses the same excuse to engage in this type of practice. According to an AFL-CIO spokesman, GM could be benefitting from bottomfeeders, and it's using a smokescreen to create offshore work.
