The Netherlands is looking to attract more quality tourists
May 15, 2019
The Netherlands is a tiny country with a little over 16,000 square miles, but the country still managed to attract 18 visitors in 2017, with most of them flocking to Amsterdam. However, officials don't see this as a good thing, and a new report states that they will focus on attracting quality tourists that will add something to the city instead of causing trouble due to their fun-loving nature. The Tourism Board also stated that it wants to focus on improving employment opportunities, as well as the sustainability of the tourism industry. Attract tourists to other parts of the country is also crucial since Amsterdam has taken the brunt of the high number of tourists.
