Sony will temporarily suspend offensive usernames

Apr 15, 2019
After banning players from the PlayStation Network, Sony has lessened the punishment for people with offensive usernames by deleting their current one to 'TempXXXX' where the Xs represent the number of the user. This was done to make users comply with the PSN's guidelines and policies and to abstain from using racial slurs, profanity or other offensive terms and acronyms. Users will be able to change their users but might opt not to. It might result in users keeping the temporary name to spite the new rule, making millions of user have similar usernames. The PSN let gamers state their own identity, but it has since backfired due to the using of offensive language.
