US breakfast cereals contaminated with pesticides
Jun 12, 2019
Over 20 different cereal breakfast brands in the US were tested for pesticide levels by the Environmental Working Group, and it was found that all of them contained levels of the Monsanto pesticide, which has been the subject of several lawsuits regarding the risks it poses for health. Monsanto's parent company Bayer addressed the group's report and said that all levels found in the cereals are below the standards dictated by the FDA and that they didn't bring any health risks. Several groups have researched to try and see which side of the stories are true. In April, a jury granted over $2 billion to a couple that sued Monsanto as the cause of their cancer.
