Mexican pro-abortion laws might be backed by the US
Mar 14, 2019
Abortion laws in Mexico have been strict in the past years, with over 4.000 women ending up in prison. However, these laws are not very flexible depending on the circumstances. Miscarriages are often labeled as abortion, making women go to prison under mistaken lines. A new study shows that some pro-life groups, mainly formed by religious organizations, have been funded by US organizations since 2004 to make the laws in the country much more strict. The abortion debate is still ongoing amidst protests in the streets of Mexico.
