HPV vaccinations and risky teen sex not related
Oct 15, 2018
Although there had been studies on human papillomavirus (HPV) and its links to girls with risky sexual behaviors, a new study just confirmed what we already knew. After an HPV program in British Columbia, Canada, girls were vaccinated against the virus. Parents showed concerns as they believed that youngsters would take more risks when it came to sex, but the study that involved more than 300,000 girls revealed the opposite. The research found a decline in those having sex at the moment of the survey and those who initiated before they were 14 years old when comparing it to previous data. As a bonus, the use of condoms increased after the implementation of the program.
