Homemade sunscreens don't provide the necessary protection
May 20, 2019
According to a study from the Nationwide Children's Hospital, people who use homemade benefits might not have the same results. Researchers looked at the recipes posted on social media to assess their quality. Popular pins were taken as a sample and found that 68% of the saved recipes for sunscreen had no UV protection. People tend to make them to avoid high costs of manufactured sunscreens as well as believing that more natural ingredients will make for a healthier alternative. Doctors recommend sticking to approved sunscreens while DIY is tested for efficiency.
