FDA recalls more drugs containing Valsartan
Oct 26, 2018
The Food and Drug Administration in the United States has expanded its list of recall products containing valsartan for suspecting they contain NDMA, a carcinogen byproduct that is also used to make rocket fuel. The agency began examining the products after one of the drug manufactures revealed several batches of the medications were tainted. The FDA added that it is unclear what the risks would be for patients who have ingested the tainted medication, but they believe there would be an increase of 1 case in every 8000 people considering the highest possible dose for Valsartan is 320mg.
