Feb 8, 2019
Just days after the Academy officially announced the upcoming edition of the Oscars would be the first without a host in 30 years, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson revealed he was actually in the talks to become the host. The 46-year-old saw someone's tweet asking for him to host the 2020's ceremony when he replied to explain he was actually up to the challenge but then became too busy because he is filming Jumanji's sequel. In the tweet, he said he was the Academy's first choice and he believed he would have made the event very entertaining, and is still open to the possibility of hosting other ceremonies.
