Cathay Pacific is threatening to fire its staff members
Aug 13, 2019
The CEO of Cathay Pacific, Rupert Hogg, sent an email to his staff members warning them not to take part in illegal protests or they would be fired. The email was sent just a few days after the Chinese authorities ordered the company to suspend employees who supported the pro-democracy protest. So far, one pilot has been suspended, and two more employees have been fired. According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the airline is facing new regulations, which includes submitting lists of working members on flights going to Chinese territory.
